Nesse método, o aprendiz era motivado a descobrir o seu aprendizado sem ser ensinado, e por isso os processos indutivos de ensino eram postulados pelo professor. Nesta perspectiva acreditava-se promover a independência, a autonomia e a responsabilidade do aluno no processo da aprendizagem da língua alvo.
