Digital texts are unique in that they can be broadcast to people as close as the same classroom and as far away as the other side of the world. This attribute brings with it great responsibility, requiring one to recognize the norms of engaging with people of diverse background experiences, cultures, religions, and ideologies. How we interpret what we read on the inter net, for instance, is grounded in our own beliefs and unerstandings of the world.
